Grading

The student’s performance at an examination or test shall be assessed on the basis of the academic objectives set for the course in question (absolute grading). No particular distribution of grades (relative grading) may be sought. You can find guidance on specific aspects of grading on the following pages.

Overall grade assessment

When an exam consists of a written hand-in and an oral defense, an overall assessment of the entire performance is made. Read about the most important considerations in connection with overall assessment.

Group exam with individual assessment

In group exams, several students are examined at the same time, but each student is assessed individually. Read about the challenges associated with grading of group exams and how they can be overcome.
