EMPOWERING EDUCATORS AT
COPENHAGEN BUSINESS SCHOOL
COPENHAGEN BUSINESS SCHOOL
By participating in this course you will:
We see case-based teaching as an active process in which the destination is not only a specific set of skills, but also a broader web of qualities that can inform a lifetime of leadership: a talent for analytical reasoning, a capacity for exercising critical judgment, respect for diverse points of view, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and an appetite for decisive action.
The case-based approach places students at the center of the learning experience. It shifts onto students more of the burden of conceptualizing and organizing cognitively the theoretical and substantial content of a course. Orchestrating an experience from which students can infer specific, subject-related management content also places a considerable burden on the instructor. That burden and ways of meeting it are central to the course.
Additionally, you will:
Discuss the construction of courses that cover particular subject areas and convey required skills to students via a case-based approach.
Discuss ways of integrating research and case-based teaching to more actively bring today’s scholarship into the classroom; provide an immersion experience in discussion leadership, and discuss the details of orchestration of active, discussion-based learning.
The seminar is a collaboration between facilitators and participants. Expect discussion of written cases, video interviews, group work, and individual presentations.
Target group
The course is structured so that both novices with the case study method and veteran teachers alike can benefit from the programme.
