Introducing GenAI in your class

This short guide offers examples and strategies for introducing generative AI in your course.

What tools can you use in the classroom?

Not sure whether your students can use ChatGPT? Or, if you can introduce a new AI tool in the class? This document clarifies what’s currently approved at CBS, what’s not, and what to consider before using AI tools in teaching.

Brief Description

In this example, Associate Professor Poornima Luthra is using ChatGPT as a learning tool in her two courses, Labour Market and Global People Management. She uses ChatGPT in both courses to help students reflect on and check their understanding of theoretical perspectives. She also encourages students to use ChatGPT as a sparring partner during group discussions to broaden their perspectives and enhance critical thinking skills.

Activity snapshot

  • Students pose course‑relevant prompts; compare results with readings.
  • Discuss limitations, bias, and credibility of outputs.
  • Reflect on when AI helps vs. when it misleads.
