Examples of Courses Using Active Participation

This section presents a selection of courses that use Active Participation as an exam format. Drawn from a variety of study programmes, these examples illustrate diverse teaching approaches that promote continuous student engagement through distributed assessment points.

To help you better understand how Active Participation is implemented in practice, each example includes:

  • A description of the formally assessed activities.
  • Their alignment with the course’s learning objectives.
  • Details on how feedback is integrated throughout the course.

We hope these examples will inspire educators who are considering a shift to Active Participation—or are simply curious about its potential.
